These energy balls are so simple to make and a healthy alternative to the usual sugar laden sweets and snacks available at this time of year.  So what better way to make these in a big batch and enjoy for your family and friends over the festive season and also to wrap up and give as gifts.

Makes approx. 18 (depending on size)

1 cup walnuts
1 cup almonds
1 cup pitted dates
Juice from 1/2 orange (and zest)
1/2 cup dried cranberries (without added sugar)
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of cinnamon

  1. In a food processor grind the walnuts and almonds to small chunky bits
  2. Add the dates, dried cranberries, sea salt and cinnamon until they all grind down and start to come together
  3. Slowly add the orange juice until the mixture comes together into a ball
  4. Empty the contents in a bowl and start to make your ‘balls’.  I advise using gloves as these help to give a better shape to the ‘balls’ without sticking to your hands

These will keep in the fridge for 1 month.
